According to the police, 54-year-old Gloria Garcia who sustained life-threatening injuries after losing control of her bicycle in Central Park on 17th of July died on Wednesday.

She was travelling on West Drive by W. 80th St. when she fell from her bicycle and suffered injuries to her head. She was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Cops said an initial investigation showed Garcia may have been swerving to save a pedestrian from hitting her bicycle.

According to the family, she was cut off by a pedicab as she rode with her 16-year-old daughter, who was sitting behind her.

Garcia died the same day a 67-year-old man sustained serious injuries in an accident that happened at East Dr. near 102nd St. after he attempted to save a pedestrian from striking.
