CONWAY, Texas<\/strong> – 1 traveler died and several others sustained serious injuries in a 13-vehicle accident during a dust storm in the Texas Panhandle, according to the authorities.<\/p>\n

The accident that occurred on Wednesday shut down Interstate 40 near Conway, 30 miles east of Amarillo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. All the lanes of I-40 opened again on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Tammy Page of Medina died in the accident as she was travelling in the back seat of a motor vehicle that was pinned between 2 trucks.<\/p>\n

The accident happened due to zero visibility that was caused by a dust storm. 6 cars, 1 motorcycle and 6 tractor-trailer rigs were involved in the accident.<\/p>\n

Many other individuals were also rushed to the hospital, said the trooper.<\/p>\n
