HOUSTON, Texas<\/strong> – Distracted driving is believed to be the reason for a head-on collision due to which an 8-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. and the location was 7800 block of Rayford.<\/p>\n

According to Constable Mark Herman, a distracted driver in an SUV crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck the minivan.<\/p>\n

The girl was travelling in the backseat of the minivan and she struck the windshield with the impact of the collision. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.<\/p>\n

The individuals behind the wheel of both vehicles were also taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

It is not clear which charges will be filed against the offender.<\/p>\n
