Texas Helicopter Crash Leaves Four Injured

ALPINE – According to the authorities, four people were injured in a private helicopter crash in West Texas late Friday afternoon.

The four people were conducting a deer survey at a ranch when the aircraft clipped a tree and went down in rough terrain.

The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office said that the incident happened about 22 miles south of Abilene.

Sheriff Ronnie Dodson and officials reported that two of the four people, who were slightly injured, walked from the crash site to get help. Emergency personnel soon located the other two people at the crash site and transported them to a hospital for treatment of more serious injuries.

Additional details regarding the incident were not released immediately by the sheriff’s office. The names of the victims involved in the crash were also not released immediately.
