ODESSA – According to the Department of Criminal Justice spokesman, Jason Clark, 3 Texas inmates who sustained injuries in a bus accident that happened near Odessa due to which 10 individuals died have been discharged from the hospital and have been transferred to prison medical facilities but corrections officer Jason Self was still in serious condition on Wednesday at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

The bus was going from Abilene to El Paso with 12 inmates and 3 corrections officers. The bus slid off icy Interstate 20 west of Odessa, down an embankment and hit a passing freight train.

Self and 4 inmates survived the prison bus crash that happened on 14th of January.

2 guards and 8 prisoners died in the crash. The prisoners who sustained injuries were taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Clark told that Damien Rodriguez and Remigio Pineda were transferred to a medical facility at the Montford Unit in Lubbock. Hector Rivera was transferred to a prison hospital in Galveston.

Clark also told that inmate Terry Johnson was expected to be discharged on Wednesday and will be sent to the Montford Unit.
