HUGO, Colo. – A chain-reaction involving four semitrailers, that took place east of Hugo, left two injured and two drivers dead.

According to Josh Lewis, the Colorado State Patrol spokesman, the accident took place Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Route 40. A total of four semi-trailers were involved when one truck crossed a median, sideswiped two other semitrailers and hit a third one almost head-on.

Duane Olson, driver of the truck that crossed the median, was killed in the incident. Clint Torres of Mansfield, Texas, was also killed in the accident. Olson’s hometown was not available.

An unknown number of cattle were also injured or killed in the incident according to Lewis.

The exact cause of the accident is not determined yet. However, it is known that drugs, alcohol and speeding were not believed to be the cause of the accident.
