On Friday, 22-year-old Maya Simone Malonson was taken into custody as she caused an accident while driving wrong way on Texas 6. 1 individual sustained injuries in the accident.

Troopers were dispatched to the accident scene which involved 5 vehicles; they found multiple vehicles in a ditch including a tractor-trailer.

Maya Simone Malonson was present at the accident spot. Troopers searched her vehicle and found a Vyvanse pill in a plastic bag and observed the strong smell of alcohol.

She was taken to the hospital and asked to submit a blood sample for an intoxication test. However, she refused to submit the sample.

The individual who sustained injuries had a broken leg and several other injuries.

The charges of Malonson included:

  • Intoxication assault, which is a third-degree felony and requires the person to spend 10 years in jail along with paying the amount of $10,000 in fine

  • Possession of a controlled substance
