HILL COUNTY, Texas – A deadly crash, involving a cement truck and an SUV, occurred on Saturday around 7 a.m. for which the State Highway 22 was closed for hours.

According to the cops, 32-year-old David Christopher Hernandez was behind the wheel of the SUV and was pronounced dead on the accident spot. He drove into the eastbound lane to pass another westbound vehicle and hit the concrete truck head on.

The individual behind the wheel of the cement truck also suffered injuries in the crash and was rushed to Baylor Scott and White.

It is not confirmed when the road reopened and the cops advised drivers to use another route to reach their desired destinations.

The case is under investigation.
