Distracted Driving Blamed In Head-On Crash Leaving Girl Critically Injured

HOUSTON, Texas – Distracted driving is believed to be the reason for a head-on collision due to which an 8-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. and the location was 7800 block of Rayford.

According to Constable Mark Herman, a distracted driver in an SUV crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck the minivan.

The girl was travelling in the backseat of the minivan and she struck the windshield with the impact of the collision. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.

The individuals behind the wheel of both vehicles were also taken to the hospital.

It is not clear which charges will be filed against the offender.
