Man And Pregnant Wife Dead After Crash In East Texas
HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas – A couple from San Antonio-area was killed in a head-on collision in East Texas Friday afternoon.
25-year-old Jonathan Coppinger and his pregnant 25-year-old wife, Jessica Coppinger, were travelling on State Highway 7 near Crockett in Houston County, when they were struck head-on by a truck.
The truck was being driven by a 16-year-old boy who was attempting to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone when he hit the Coppinger’s car head-on.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the husband died at the scene, whereas his wife and their unborn child died on the way to the hospital.
The Coppingers were residents of Marion and they were on their way to a baby shower in Nacogdoches when the accident happened.
