Medina woman killed in 13-vehicle crash in Texas
CONWAY, Texas – 1 traveler died and several others sustained serious injuries in a 13-vehicle accident during a dust storm in the Texas Panhandle, according to the authorities.
The accident that occurred on Wednesday shut down Interstate 40 near Conway, 30 miles east of Amarillo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. All the lanes of I-40 opened again on Thursday.
Tammy Page of Medina died in the accident as she was travelling in the back seat of a motor vehicle that was pinned between 2 trucks.
The accident happened due to zero visibility that was caused by a dust storm. 6 cars, 1 motorcycle and 6 tractor-trailer rigs were involved in the accident.
Many other individuals were also rushed to the hospital, said the trooper.
