Off-duty Sheriff’s deputy involved in accident on Texas 6

On Friday, a two-vehicle crash happened on Texas 6 near Tabor Road which involved an off-duty sheriff’s deputy from Limestone County.

A Bryan woman in her late 20s was going southbound at a high rate of speed on Texas 6 in a Volkswagen at about 7 p.m. She was changing lanes quickly when she crossed the way of a Nissan, told by the individual who saw it happening. According to police, the woman clipped the Nissan which was being driven by an off-duty Limestone County Sheriff’s deputy. The deputy behind the wheel of the Nissan lost control of his vehicle and rolled over many times before landing in the median between Texas 6 and the feeder road.

The deputy sustained minor injuries in the accident for which he was rushed to CHI St. Joseph Hospital.

The woman didn’t sustain life-threatening injuries and was examined by the hospital staff. She was taken into custody and charged for DWI. Her identity has not been released by the police.
