MISSOURI CITY, TX – A semi-trailer nearly ripped in half in an accident that happened on U.S. 90A and Cravens Street.

The 18-wheeler was crossing the railroad tracks at around 1:40 p.m. and it is believed that it may have gotten stuck when the train struck it.

The tractor-trailer was sent from the tracks to nearby power lines by the force of the collision.

Almost 70 individuals were traveling in the Amtrak train when the accident happened, but no one sustained injuries.

The case is under investigation and drivers were made alert to avoid the area until the investigation is completed.
